Via Jihad Watch, I read that the Iranian government has recently arrested fourteen western Imperialist crusader spies within Iran's borders. Not only that, however, but these are spies with a difference. In particular, they are squirrels!

Yes, squirrels. According to the Islamic Republic News Agency:

The squirrels were carrying spy gear of foreign agencies, and were stopped before they could act, thanks to the alertness of our intelligence services.

So far as I can see, this is no joke.

In fact, it rather reminds me of the recent claims that British troops had released man-eating badgers (!) into the environs of Basra, in an effort to spread panic among the people living there. Which gives rise to the intriguing question, has the animal kingdom thrown its weight behind Western civilisation, in the war with Islam?
Because the only other explanation is that many Muslims are utterly insane, and that couldn't possibly be true, could it?

Labour chases the Muslim bloc vote

The British government needs to change its foreign policy to win back voters who deserted the party over the Iraq war, says Northern Ireland Secretary Peter Hain, who is seeking to become deputy leader of the ruling Labour Party.

In a speech to a mainly Muslim audience in east London on Tuesday night, Hain said that "hundreds of thousands" of Muslims had been lost to Labour as a result of the worsening situation in Iraq.

"We must combine a commitment to reducing inequality at home with a progressive foreign policy abroad," he said in becoming the first minister to directly link the invasion of Iraq with the waning support for the government.

Hain, who is also Welsh Secretary, has in the past been indirectly critical of some of the failings of US foreign policy under President George W Bush.

He was quoted by the Cardiff-based Western Mail as telling his audience that he wanted to "bring back to Labour the hundreds of thousands of Muslim voters we lost in 2005, as a result of the Iraq war."

"We must work to reform and strengthen international institutions like the UN so they can effectively promote democracy and human rights worldwide," the 57-year old deputy leader candidate also said.

For the avoidance of doubt, that's the same UN that has today elected such totems of democracy and human rights as Egypt, South Africa, and Angola onto its Human Rights Council. That one, not a different UN.

"We must also redouble our efforts to prevent the (right-wing) BNP spreading hate and fear in your community," he said.

Mr Hain does not appear to have specified quite how the BNP does this. I'd have thought that the people who really spread hatred and fear among Muslims were the men known as "Imams". But, Mr Hain is, like most politicians, more interested in vote grubbing than in honesty.

And, is anyone else revolted by the endless attention given to the wounded feelings of Muslims, not just over Iraq, but over everything else? David Cameron was fawning over them earlier this week, telling us that we mustn't use the term "Islamist", lest the poor dears feel victimised by this, and now Peter Hain is doing the same thing. Why don't some of these politicians go and speak to the native working class once in a while, rather than occasionally leaning down from the Ivory Tower and instucting them not to vote BNP, and to quietly acquiesce in their own destruction and replacement?

Terrorist attack in Britain?

AL-QAEDA leaders in Iraq are planning the first “large-scale” terrorist attacks on Britain and other western targets with the help of supporters in Iran, according to a leaked intelligence report.

Spy chiefs warn that one operative had said he was planning an attack on “a par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki” in an attempt to “shake the Roman throne”, a reference to the West.

Another plot could be timed to coincide with Tony Blair stepping down as prime minister, an event described by Al-Qaeda planners as a “change in the head of the company”.

The report, produced earlier this month and seen by The Sunday Times, appears to provide evidence that Al-Qaeda is active in Iran and has ambitions far beyond the improvised attacks it has been waging against British and American soldiers in Iraq.

There is no evidence of a formal relationship between Al-Qaeda, a Sunni group, and the Shi’ite regime of President Mah-moud Ahmadinejad, but experts suggest that Iran’s leaders may be turning a blind eye to the terrorist organisation’s activities.

It follows revelations last year that up to 150 Britons had travelled to Iraq to fight as part of Al-Qaeda’s “foreign legion”. A number are thought to have returned to the UK, after receiving terrorist training, to form sleeper cells.

Another reason why, as I've written before, Britain, or Israel, or America, or someone, should be prepared to hit Iran hard. Really, this is the war that should have been waged instead of attacking Iraq, which, although a threat, was a much less significant one.

Islamic Tolerance Strikes Again!

In the past, I've written about the Islamic persecution of Iraq's Mandaeans, and over at Christianophobia Watch we regularly cover the large-scale persecution of Iraqi Christians. Jews were almost entirely driven out of Iraq, and most of the Arab world, after the establishment of Israel in 1948, although for some reason you don't hear assorted worthies lining up to call for their "right of return" to be recognised.

Really, being a religious minority in Iraq is a lot like being caught up in a giant version of that favourite game of children and drunken teenagers, Spin the Bottle. When the bottle points to you, it's your turn to get lynched!

Now, the Muslims have once again spun that bottle, and this time, it's pointed itself at the Yazidis:

Unidentified gunmen have killed 23 people in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, police said.

All the victims were said to be members of the Yazidi religious minority which follows a pre-Islamic religion and worships an angel figure.

Police said the victims had been dragged from a bus and shot dead. Followers of other faiths were reportedly left unharmed by the gunmen.

As with the Mandaeans, the Yazidis are another group that I'd never heard of until today. It's interesting how many groups I only find out about when the Muslims start to exterminate them.
