The Cambridge students at the centre of the row over the Mohammed cartoons have been questioned by the police, and may face prosecution under the Public Order Act.

The whole case reminds me of the ongoing prosecution of the editor of the French magazine, Charlie Hebdo, for publishing the Motoons. Across Western Europe, traditional rights of free speech give way to the demands of Muslim barbarians.
I wrote about the increasing incompetence of the police a few days ago. Now it seems that they, and the Crown Prosecution service, are more upset about this, than this.
Once again, one rule for Muslims, one rule for the rest of us.
Update: Harry's Place has obtained a copy of the offending magazine. They aren't showing anyone, but they have provided a summary of its contents, and profess themselves astonished that the story has progressed as far as it has. I quite agree.

The picture caption suggested Mohammed was a “violent paedophile”. Some are condemning the anonymous student, while others, such as the admirable philosophy lecturer Arif Ahmed, are sticking up for him.
This is his letter to The Cambridge Student, published on Feb 22:
Dear Madam
The fact that mocking somebody’s beliefs is liable to cause him offence is no reason to refrain from it if the beliefs in questions are nothing but a tissue of superstition and prejudice. But that is exactly what Islam is. I do not know the guest editor of Clareification. But I hope that he and other Cambridge students are aware that some senior members of this University (including me) regard the satirizing of religion as commendable, indeed in the present atmosphere I think it is practically obligatory. He has done nothing wrong, and I am ashamed of those of my colleagues who have chosen to condemn his actions.

I quite agree about Dr Ahmed. I am happy to doff my hat to anyone who speaks out against what is going on at Cambridge, particularly where that person is a member of the faculty there, and even more particularly when he is apparently an ex-Muslim.
A quick google search for "Arif Ahmed Cambridge" reveals that he has attacked Islam before.
Last October he said "[I]t's difficult to see what more Islam could do to be classed as a violent religion" (http://www.cambridge-union.org/press/201006-2.pdf).
He also attacked the Pope as an "aging ex-Nazi", which suggests he is one of those fanatical atheists who thinks that all religions are equally bad, which I of course don't agree with. But at least he's right on Islam.
Of course, the way things are going, it won't be long before Dr Ahmed finds himself being disciplined by his employer on account of his views on Islam. You can insult Christians all you like and be left unmolested, but woe betide anyone who does anything to upset the Mohammedans.
