A 12-year-old boy has been arrested after an incident at a Cornwall school in which a 13-year-old boy was left with serious head injuries. The Year Eight pupil suffered a suspected fractured skull at Bodmin College at 1300 BST on Tuesday.
He is in a stable condition at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol. A 12-year-old boy was arrested and bailed until 2 July.
The incident came amid claims by some parents of bullying at the school while others called it safe and friendly.
One parent, who has a daughter at the college, said: "My daughter has been regularly verbally abused and harassed in her first year at the college.
"We have also had a meeting with the head teacher and my daughter was told to get a thicker skin."
The school responded: "The school takes all incidents of bullying very seriously indeed and has a clear anti-bullying policy which is followed by staff and students."
Isn't state education just great? Still, I suppose it's not as bad as rape in the classroom, which we have in London.
