My son’s best friend, Jon, who’s in the Air Force stationed in New Jersey at Fort Dix/McGuire Air Force Base was shot by a crazed anti-military white guy on Independence Day and he remains in critical condition. He had been on leave here in Ohio and got back to his home off base and was unpacking stuff from his car when this 22 year old guy walked up to him and asked him if he lived in the house. When Jon said yes, the guy said “not any more” and shot him point blank in the chest. He tried to shoot him again, but his gun jammed. Jonathan made it into the house. The guy then shot himself. Turns out the guy left a couple of suicide notes stating how much he hated the military and he wanted to go out making a statement, so he chose to make his statement on Independence Day trying to kill a soldier. The Airman is in a critical condition; the liberal psychopath died of his (self-inflicted) wound.
Really, this kind of thing is simply the logical continuation from the bile and hatred which American liberals routinely spew out against America, and against the American military. Charles Johnson at LGF has previously documented an instance of liberals burning an American soldier in effigy during an "anti-war" demonstration, while the American flag is routinely burnt at such rallies (just as the Hezbollah flag is waved with gusto). As the brilliant Ann Coulter has said, liberals hate America (and the West in general) more than any al-Qaeda terrorist, and it should come as no surprise if some of them actually live out their twisted fantasies of waging war on the things they hate.
Here in Britain, our liberals are slightly calmer than their American counterparts, if just as delusional. Sure, they'll carry banners supporting Hezbollah terrorists, they'll chant anti-British and anti-American slogans, and they might even burn a flag or two. But, so far as I am aware, they haven't yet stooped as low as burning British soldiers in effigy, and, while we do have our violent liberals, they tend to restrict themselves to attacking military equipment, rather than military personnel. But it wouldn't surprise me if we were to see some of these people work themselves up into more extreme violence in the future
In the meantime, let's hope that the attacked Airman recovers quickly.
