Spare the rod...

The BBC reports on pupils attacking their teachers:

When I broached the topic with some teenage boys on their way to school, they claimed that some teachers did not respect their rights.

"They harass us unnecessarily and so we react violently," one said.

His friend said he would not have a second thought about beating up a teacher if provoked.

Don't worry, this is Cameroon they're talking about.

It could never happen here...

On holiday round the Caribbean (yes, life's not bad) schoolchildren were well behaved, impeccably dressed, polite & well mannered....couldn't fault anyone of them. Discipline is foremost in schools there...it works during the schoolday....don't know what they get up to once the uniform is off.
